HESS, Mrs. Maxine E.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Monday evening October 12, 2009. Maxine was born August 19, 1913 in Gobles, Michigan a daughter of William and Isabelle Welch Crawford. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with Allen Test Products for 23 years, retiring in 1976. Maxine was also a member of the Kalamazoo Eagles, Moose, and V.F.W. Lodges. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guy E. Hess on March 30, 1955; a son, Glenn Hess in 1999; a step daughter, Dorothy Carrol Kenner; a step grandson, Tommy Kenner; brothers, Leon, Carl, Paul, Wayne, and Max Crawford; and 2 sisters, Edith Crawford and Mabel "Bebe" Willis. Maxine is survived by 3 children, Guy Nancy Hess of Gobles, Gayle Hess of Kalamazoo, and James Hess of Gobles; a daughter-in-law, Joan Hess of Richland; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Patrick Milley of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Alice "Peggy" Crawford of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Graveside services will be held 10 o'clock Friday in Hope Cemetery, Texas Corners. Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
