TARTAGLIA, Matthew J. Mattawan Matt died from injuries he received in an auto accident on Saturday, February 24, 2007. He was born February 9, 1989, in Kalamazoo, MI, the youngest son of Jeffrey & Sandra Boitnott Tartaglia and had been a life long area resident. Matt was an extremely gifted student at Mattawan High School and would have graduated summa cum laude this year. He was accepted to the University of Michigan where he was going to study nuclear engineering. Matt was also an excellent musician, playing first chair clarinet in the school band. Matt and his family were members of Agape Christian Church. Matt was a wonderful guy who was loved by his family and many friends, respected by his instructors, teachers and fellow musicians, and lived life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by all. Matt is survived by: his parents, Jeffrey & Sandra Tartaglia of Mattawan; a brother, Michael Tartaglia of Mattawan; maternal grandparents, Ruby Jane & Alfred Renfer of Lawrence; aunts and uncles, James Boitnott of Lawton, Steve & Shirlee Boitnott of Montana, Diana & John Reist of Dowagiac, Larry & SueAnn Boitnott of Otsego, Lynn & Vicki Boitnott of Decatur, Rose Boitnott of Lawrence and Gene & Beverly Flowers of Cincinnati, OH; many cousins and his special friend, Katie Grimas of Mattawan. Services will be held 11:00 Thursday morning at Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Rd, with Pastor Brent Nesseth, officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in Mattawan will follow services. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday from 6-8pm, and on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street.
