Mary Irene Westrate

Mary Irene Westrate, age 99 of Cedar Springs, Michigan and formerly a long time resident of Kalamazoo, MI passed away at home on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 surrounded by her family whom she loved. Mary was born in Kalamazoo, MI on July 3, 1909. She enjoyed traveling, crochet and knitting, talking with people and watching Lawrence Welk. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nellie VanTuyl, her sons John and Marinus Westrate. She is survived by her children, Adrian Westrate of Kalamazoo, Marie Tim Worley of Cedar Springs and Jenny Eisenhardt of Kalamazoo. Mary has 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Langeland Family Funeral Home, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, Michigan, with committal at Mt. Everest Cemetery on South Westnedge immediately following. Viewing to take place on Friday, June 19 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
