Passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Age 85. Mary was born in Kalamazoo on October 28, 1930, the daughter of the late William and Clarice (Magee) Emrick. She loved to work and served the community in many capacities. She was employed as Manager of Eckrich Credit Union, served as Schoolcraft Village Manager, and was currently serving as Prairie Ronde Township Treasurer and working at Speedway in Schoolcraft. She also belonged to the Ladies Library Association in Schoolcraft. Mary is survived by her two sons, Michael (Bonnie) VerHage and David (Leticia) VerHage; three grandchildren, Jamie VerHage, Lauren VerHage and Carlo DiDonna; three brothers, William (Marie) Emrick, Arthur (Ida) Emrick and Charles (Catherine) Emrick; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Waugh and brother, Ralph Emrick. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel from 12 p.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Arthritis Foundation Michigan or a charity of the donor's choice.
