Of Kalamazoo Passed away October 12, 2011 in Kalamazoo. Mary was born March 31, 1910 in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of Ernest A. and Irene B. Allen Jones. Mary lived in the Kalamazoo area for over 20 years, moving here from Charlotte, NC to be near her family. A member of PEO Sisterhood and Center Point Church Third Reformed Church of Kalamazoo, she also volunteered for the Shepard Center and Bronson Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert E. Rupp on August 17, 1976 and her brother, William Jones. Mary is survived by her children, Tom Kathleen Spettel of Kalamazoo and Susan Bert Miles of Anaheim, CA. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Steven Stacey Miles of Crystal Lake, IL. Robert Erika Miles of Santa Ana, CA, Jason Becky Spettel of Portage and Shannon Spettel of Grand Rapids; 7 great grandchildren; and a niece, Pamela Ron Kerzner of Santee, CA. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 1:30 PM in the Community Room at Evergreen North Apartments, 5700 Vintage Lane, with Pastor Dar Vander Wal officiating. Burial will take place in Charlotte, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Park Village Pines 2920 Crystal Lane, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 or Chapter Q of the PEO Sisterhood c/o Susan VanderMeer, 5132 Lands End Dr., Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
