Age 88
Kalamazoo Passed away Monday, May 18, 2009 at her home. Mary Jean was born July 18, 1920 in Lafayette, IN to Walter and Alice Luck Flora. She graduated from Kahler School of Nursing of the Mayo Clinic in 1942 and was a practicing RN for several years. Mary Jean was a secretary for many years at Comstock Schools. Her interests were reading, art, cooking, music and family. Mary Jean was a wonderful and energetic hostess. She and Marshal Morrison were married in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1998. Also preceding her in death were brothers, John, Dudley and Phillip Flora. She is survived by her five children; Maurice Morrison of Kalamazoo, Harriet Mike Moran of Indianapolis, Phillip Teresa Ventimiglia Morrison of Vicksburg, Grant Louise Morrison of Kalamazoo and Margaret Marc Tilbury of Vicksburg. Mary Jean is also survived by six grandchildren; a brother, David Jean Flora on IN; a sister, Harriet Netherton of FL; a sister-in-law, Jann Flora of IN; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Galesburg United Methodist Church, 111 W. Battle Creek St., Galesburg, on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Peggy Baker presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Outland Church, P.O. Box 71, Battle Creek, MI 49016.
