Mary Beth Kreutzfeld Lubs-Cannon of South Haven, Michigan, died peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice care facility in Kalamazoo Michigan on January 31, 2007. She was born October 9, 1937 in Escanaba Michigan, the daughter of James and Matilda Cannon. Mary Beth graduated from Gladstone High School in 1954, and from Western Michigan University in 1958. She married George Lubs in 1958. They moved to Dundee, Illinois where she taught English at Dundee Middle School. She married Bill Kreutzfeld in South Haven Michigan in 1993 and became a parishioner at St. Basil Catholic Church and a staff member of Baseline Middle School. Her community activities included South Haven Blueberry Festival, Tall Ships Festival, Maritime Museum, and the Kiwanis Key Club. Mary Beth enjoyed crossword puzzles, computer solitaire, Thursday night concerts at South Haven Marina, Sunday morning breakfast at the American Legion Hall, and socializing with her life long friends ?The Golden Girls?. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Matilda Cannon, husband George Lubs, and husband Bill Kreutzfeld. She is survived by her brothers Bill Joyce of Saginaw MI, Bob of Escanaba MI, and John of Big Bear City CA, half brother Tom of Grand Rapids MI, half sister Margaret of Gladstone MI, son David Holly, and granddaughter Nicole of Cary, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, 5473 Croyden St., Kalamazoo MI 49006 or a charity of your choice. According to her wishes cremation has occurred and a memorial service will be held in South Haven during the summer.
