HOLDER, Mrs. Mary F.
Portage, MI Died Friday afternoon December 24, 2010. Mary was born October 11, 1916 in Calumet, Michigan a daughter of Andrew and Frances Safer Zager. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with Michigan Bell for 41 years, retiring in 1978. Mary was also a member of the First United Methodist Church; and the Portage Quilters. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter P. Holder in January 1965; and 2 brothers, Ed and Sam. She is survived by a sister, Katherine "Kate" Grosser of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Jean Zager of Saginaw, MI; nieces and nephews, Doug Geishart of Traverse City, MI, James Geishart of Sacramento, CA, Peter Zager of Lewiston, ID, Robert Zager of Bozeman, MT, Gary Zager of Virginia, Laren Zager of Fairbanks, AK, Dale Holder of Scotts, Phillip Holder Punta Gorda, FL, and Janice Herrick of Kalamazoo; several great-nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the In-House Hospice Program.
