Mary Helen Joanne McClellan

Mary Helen Joanne (Karsnick) McClellan of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away on October 3, 2024, at the age of 92. Mary Helen was born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 8, 1932, to the late Joseph and Catherine (Burke) Karsnick. On May 7, 1955, Mary Helen married Charles McClellan. The two were married for 53 years before Charles’ death in 2008.

Mary Helen is survived by her children, Chuck (Claudia) McClellan, Martin (Holly) McClellan, Maureen (James) McCarter, Maryann (Shawn) Muller, Aileen (David) Picano, Burke (Tammy) McClellan, and Kathleen (Chuck) Hess; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and siblings, John Karsnick and Barbara O’Brien.

Mary Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; and her siblings, Richard Karsnick, Irene Steyaert, Dennis Karsnick, Joseph Karsnick, and Catherine Karsnick.

Mary Helen has been laid to rest at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Helen’s honor to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
