Mary Ann Goetz passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 3, 1955 in Detroit, MI the daughter of James and Mary (Etlinger) Hayden. Mary Ann was a school teacher for 38 years and finished her career at Portage Central Middle School. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Student Parish. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father. On June 27, 1981 Mary Ann married John F. Goetz, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Stephen H. Goetz, Cheryl A. Goetz and James P. Goetz; her mother, Mary Hayden; three brothers, Rev. Fr. James Hayden, Patrick Hayden and John Hayden; and a sister, Kathleen Rentz. Visitation will be held 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, March 30th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where a Rosary Service will begin at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 Thursday morning at St. Thomas More Catholic Student Parish, 421 Monroe Street, with Rev. Fr. Kenneth Schmidt and Rev. Fr. James Hayden, concelebrants. Memorials may be directed to the American Brain Tumor Association or the National Brain Tumor Society.
