Mary F. Froats

FROATS, Mary F. Of Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday evening March 17, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Mary was born May 25, 1935 in Niagara Falls, New York, the daughter of William and Evelyn Goff Ferguson and has been a resident of Kalamazoo since 1985. Mary enjoyed sewing, ceramics, was an avid reader, and was an ace at crossword puzzles, but the most important part of her life was spending time with her family and friends. On July 22, 1955 she was united in marriage to George D. Froats who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Jennifer James Washington of Lancaster, TX; her son, David Krystal Froats of Portage, MI; a granddaughter, Nikki Kendall Jones of Grand Prairie, TX; a great-grandson, Kameron Jones; her brother, Donald Ferguson of Plymouth, NC. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Alan Ferguson. Private family services will be held at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Memorials in Mary?s memory may be directed to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, or the Salvation Army.
