PROUTY, Marvin E., Sr.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Went home to the Lord on May 1st, 2009 at his home. He was born November 18, 1932 in Kalamazoo, to the late Irving F. and the late Aileen S. Gardner Prouty. Marvin was united in marriage to the former Patricia Tinklenberg who preceded him in death on May 19, 2003. Marvin was a man who liked being with his family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including fishing of the many local lakes, going on car rides in the countryside, going on picnics, and listening to the 1940's era style of jazz. He also enjoyed listening to and many times watching the Detroit Tigers. During the 1950's, Marvin served stateside in the Army. He later was employed at different companies. In 1968 he acquired employment at Mol-Bee in Portage that lasted over 30 years. Surviving Marvin are his children, Marvin Prouty, Jr., Ernest Prouty and Arthur Prouty, all of Kalamazoo; a brother, Francis Eugene Mary Prouty; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Dorothy Mulder. No visitation is scheduled. As requested by Marvin, cremation has taken place. Graveside services will take place Wednesday, May 13th , 10:00am at Grand Prairie Cemetery in Kalamazoo Township. Arrangements are by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
