HEFFNER, Marvin E. "Bud"
Kalamazoo Went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Marvin was born on January 18, 1926 to Jacob and Effie Heffner in Bryant, OH. Bud served for 17 years in the United States Army and was a veteran of WW II and the Korean War. He was proud to have served his country. After the death of his wife, Charleen, in 1995, he moved back to Kalamazoo and worked for Dave LaRue at LaRue's Family Restaurant, where he was a familiar face. Some of the people who were special to Bud were Jillian Kirkman, Casey Baldwin, Missy Houldsworth, Sheri and Paul Mullins and several others. He was preceded by his wife, Charleen; his brothers, Charles and Robert, sisters, Mildred Barnhart and Betty Colgrove, his half-brother, John Gantz and half-sister, Edna McAfee. Surviving are his daughter, Pat Dar Warner of Kalamazoo, granddaughter, Chris Mark Wagner, two great granddaughters, Cara and Paige of PA, grandson, Ron Patti Warner and three great grandsons, Ryan, Zach and Luke all of Portage. Also surviving are his sisters, Dale Colgrove of Medway, OH and Francis Ann Valentine of New Carlisle, OH; his half brother, Howard Gantz of Medway, OH; sisters-in-law, Mildred Heffner of Tipp City and Clara Hale of Ocala, FL; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Pastor Bruce E. Howell officiating. Interment will take place at Good Shepard Memorial Gardens, Ocala, FL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
