SCHAU, Martin E., Sr.
Scotts Passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007. He was born November 8, 1943 in Kalamazoo, the son of Lee Phillip and Gertrude Brooks Schau and had been a lifelong resident of the community. Martin had been employed by Production Plated Plastics for 23 years and then by Summit Polymers for 8 years. In his spare time, he was a ?Gentleman Farmer?, who loved using his John Deere tractors for the outdoors and gardening, especially vegetables and potatoes. He also loved traveling and attending his grandchildren?s events. On July 20, 1963 he married the former Deloris June Brooks, who survives. Martin is also survived by his children, Randy Whitney Schau of FL, Janice Schau of Kalamazoo, Marty Schau, Jr. of Kalamazoo, Richard Debbie Schau of Scotts and Kenny Stephanie Schau of Sturgis; his grandchildren, Zoey, Mandy, Chad, Ashley, Marty III, Alan, Brooke, Brodie, Alec, Andrew and Allison; his sisters, Mary Clarence Sutherland of Paw Paw, Marcia Ron Hughson of Parchment and Marjorie Ron Nash of Vero Beach, FL; brothers-in-law, Richard Theresa Brooks, Donnie Margaret Brooks and Dennie Brooks, Bill Little of Parchment. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marlene Little; brothers, infant Phillip, Marshall and Marvin; sister-in-law, Patricia Brooks; and his parents-in-law, Richard Ethel Brooks. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., with Rev. Dave Alderman officiating. Interment will follow in Boughton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
