WALSH, Martha J.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday afternoon, June 19, 2010. Martha was born July 13, 1931 in Angola, IN the daughter of Mark and Flora Simmons Champion. Martha worked for 20 years with the Shakespeare Company and later with Green Thumb Community Center in Vicksburg. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, and enjoyed knitting, bingo, and bowling. She was united in marriage to her loving husband, Joseph A. Walsh, who preceded her in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul E. Bach, Sr.; 5 brothers and sisters, Harold Champion, Dwayne Champion, Elizabeth Champion, Wilda Teadt, and Mildred Brown. Surviving are 2 children, Yvonne Gary Sr. Courtney, Cynthia Brad Gordon; 8 grandchildren, Gary L. Courtney, Jr., Malisa Courtney, Daniel Graham, Shawna Porter, Amanda Graham, Paul Bach, Jr., John Bach, Darcy Tuinstra; 7 great-grandchildren, Alexander, Anthony, Jacob, Vayda, Gavin, Sarah, and Samantha; brothers and sisters, Clayton Alberta Champion, Willabelle Compton, Nancy Saddler, Sharon Charles Smith, Mark Roslyn Champion, Sandra Harry Wise; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Monday evening from 6-8pm and Tuesday from 1-2 pm prior to the service.
