Of Lawton, Michigan Passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008. Martha was born May 27, 1925, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Claude and Gladys VandenBerg Delbridge. On December 30, 1944, she was united in marriage to Arthur Frank Powers, Sr. who preceded her in death on May 20, 1988. Also preceding her in death were her children, Donald Lee Powers, Martha Ann Miller and Arthur Frank "Skip" Powers, Jr.; her siblings, Gladys "Peggy" VanMeter, Arvilla "Bunny" Delbridge, Judy Wallenslager, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Howard, James "Hank" Delbridge, Sr., Harland "Hodge" Hause and Raymond Hause. Surviving are her children, Claude David Sharon Powers of Portage, Lester James Sheryle Powers of Lawton, Harry Edwin Victoria Powers of Golden, CO, Duane Lewis Powers of Lawton and Barbara Jean Daniel Barnhardt of Paw Paw; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Travis and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 13 with her son-in-law, Pastor Daniel Barnhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Genesee Prairie Cemetery. Memorials in Martha's memory may be directed to Michigan Commission for the Blind Training Center. 343-1508; www.langelands.com
