Martha Clara (Mason) Hutcheson

Martha Clara Hutcheson passed away peacefully Thursday, June 24, 2021. She was born August 27, 1921, in Euclid, OH a daughter of Julius and Emily (Botz) Mason.

Martha lost her mother at age 9, her father soon after, and survived the rigors of orphanage life. On April 8, 1944, Martha married William Lloyd Hutcheson who preceded her in death on April 1, 1986. Together they raised four daughters and one son. Several different clerical positions gave her the necessary experience to retire as the Executive Secretary to the president of Hollywood Bank & Trust in Hollywood, FL. In retirement she moved to Kalamazoo, MI to be closer to her daughter Marla. She enjoyed Christian Bible Fellowship classes, volunteering time and resources to Operation Christmas Child and personal and telephonic visits with beloved friends. She was an avid reader.

Martha was also preceded in death by two siblings, Alma McClure and Herbert Mason, and a daughter-in-law, Margreet Hutcheson. Martha is survived by her children, Rande' (Robert) Fritz, Linda (Allen) Parker, Marla (Mitchel) Keil, Ruth (Dan) Mayer and David Hutcheson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 1 to 3pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
