BARRONS, MARTHA M.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Martha Marie Barrons, age 74, went home to be with her Lord, September 18, 2012 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born May 15, 1938, in Colon, Michigan, the daughter of George and Lillian Fries Merica and has been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life. Martha was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She was a cosmetologist for the majority of her life and had co-owned Mar-Lyn's Beauty Shop for many years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, but the most important part of her life was her family. On August 10, 1957, she was united in marriage to Charles F. Barrons, who survives. Also surviving are their three children, Curtis Susan Barrons of Benzonia, MI, Tammy David Shugars of Galesburg and Cristine Billy Gaines of Mattawan; grandchildren, Paul Denise Barrons, Charles Melissa Barrons, Sarah Giorio and Chaz Shugars; great-grandchildren, Joselynne Mae Barrons, Sophia Marie Giorio and Wesley A.K. Giorio; and many special relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and all five brothers, James, Richard, Melvin, George Edward and Howard. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 22 from 9-11 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where a service to celebrate Martha's life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday. A private interment will be held in Hope Cemetery. Memorials in Martha's memory may be direct to a charity of your choice.
