Portage, MI Died Friday afternoon May 11, 2012. Marlin was born February 13, 1939 in Middleton, Michigan a son of Leal and Bessie Springer Glazier. In 1959 Marlin enlisted in the U.S. Navy and while stationed in Hawaii he married Mary D. Hoffman Glazier on February 4, 1961 who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Renee Bob Owens of Tyler, TX, Bradley Sheri Glazier of Cement City, MI, Mary Beth Ben Pompey of Portage, and Gregory Katrina Glazier of Otsego; 12 grandchildren Jessica, Shane, Stefan, Rachel, Josie, Bryce, Collin, Nikki, Tiffany, Lance, and Lexi; and 2 great-grandchildren Jakobe and Quentin; a sister, Colleen Harbinson of Denver, CO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 8 years, coming from the Lansing area. Marlin spent his whole life working in the Grocery store business. For several years he owned and operated his own store in Middleton which was previously owned by his father Leal. Marlin was a butcher for 54 years up until his passing. He enjoyed spending time with his best friend and wife Mary. Marlin loved being with his family and playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Gary and Brent Glazier, and his granddaughter Taylor Betts. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
