Marjorie “Marj” (Voss) Overbey of Schoolcraft, Michigan passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2024, in the loving care of Centrica Rose Arbor Place. Marj was born in Seattle, Washington, to Benjamin and Anna (Oordt) Voss. Raised in South Holland Illinois. Marj moved to Michigan in 1978 to live on Cedar Lake in Marcellus for many years. In 2012 she moved into her final home in Schoolcraft to enjoy quiet life in the country. She was a devoted wife to Leonard “Bud” for 70 years until his recent passing. Marj was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother as spending time with her family and friends brought her the most joy in life. Marj was a breast cancer survivor, enjoyed camping, and took great pride decorating her yard with beautiful potted flowers in the summertime. In addition, Marj was a devout Christian, as a believer in the Christian Reformed faith.
Surviving are her children, Ben (Janis) Overbey, Brenda (Jeff) Doroh; grandchildren, Nathan (Heather) Overbey, Brett (Kristin) Overbey, Kristin (Colin) Harrington, Dustin (Heather) Doroh, Corey (Kaleigh) Doroh, Troy ( Emma) Doroh; great grandchildren, Micayla, Regan, Olivia, Silas, Emmett, Sarah; nieces and nephew, Tammi, Mary, and Vern Jr.
Preceding in her passing are her parents, husband, Bud; sisters, Arlene Voss, Wilma Bult; and niece Wendy.
Marj and Bud will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
