Marjorie A. Young

YOUNG, Marjorie A. Portage Passed away May 5, 2007. Marj was born February 19, 1953 in Knox, IN, the daughter of Gerald and Ione Johnston Humes and had lived in Portage for the past 30 years. She was employed for 25 years as an Executive Assistant for Edward Rose and Sons. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Marj also served as a hospice worker at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. She loved her family very much and was especially devoted to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Gerald Humes and by a granddaughter Kenzie Young. On July 16, 1972, she was married to Tim Young, who survives. Also surviving are a son Travis Kim Young and a daughter Trista Dusty White, all of Portage; 4 grandchildren, Taylor and Hunter Young and Brady and Logan White; her mother Ione Humes of South Bend, IN and a brother Charles Jan Humes of South Bend, IN; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o?clock Wednesday at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre Ave. with the Rev. Fr. Kevin Covert officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Memorial contributions in Marj?s memory may be made to the Autism Society of Kalamazoo/Battle Creek.
