ARTEAGA, Mario R.
Of Kalamazoo Mario passed away Monday, October 04, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born, December 6, 1973 in Harlingen, Texas, the son of Mario and Herlinda Vega Arteaga. On February 9, 1990, Mario was united in marriage to Sulema Gonzalez. He was employed by Kalamazoo Steel Processing and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Sulema Arteaga; his five children, Mario Arteaga of Texas, Yvette Arteaga, Sulema Arteaga, Rosemary Arteaga, Mario Arteaga Jr., and Cruz Arteaga all of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren, Emily Montoya and Rea Arteaga; his father, Mario Arteaga of Texas; three sisters, Rosalinda Arteaga, Rosalicia Arteaga, and Anita Arteaga all of Texas; one brother, Armando Arteaga of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his mother, Herlinda Arteaga. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake Street, with Msgr. Michael Hazard celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Sunday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
