WATSON, Marilyn L.
Scotts Passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 in Portage. Marilyn was born in Kalamazoo on July 12, 1930 the daughter of Peter and Effie Ritzma Santman and was a lifelong resident of the area. For over 39 years, Marilyn worked as a billing clerk in the paper industry, beginning with KVP Sutherland and ending with James River. She graduated from Comstock High School in 1948 and was a member of Portage First Reformed Church. Because of her warm personality, she was known to all as "Aunt Marilyn". She welcomed everybody into her life and home. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter; and a brother. Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen Thorpe of Scotts; a son, Danny Rebecca Watson of Scotts; former son-in-law, Chris Thorpe; 8 grandchildren; a niece and nephew. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, beginning at 11:00 AM, in the Scotts Community Center, 8450 S. 36th St., where all are invited to join the family and remember Aunt Marilyn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in Aunt Marilyn's memory.
