Passed away Sunday morning, October 25, 2015. Marilyn was born on August 29, 1927 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Longjohn) DeBoer and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. Marilyn was a member of Haven Reformed Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are her son, Bruce (Susan) Kroeze; 2 grandsons, Brett (Stefanie) and Bryan (Julia) Kroeze; great granddaughter, Stella; sister-in-law/brother-in-law, Phyllis (Clifford) Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband of 65 years, Henry "Nub" Kroeze; son, Chad Kroeze; 4 brothers and their spouses, William, Gerald, Edward and Arthur; and sister Irene Potts and her spouse. She was employed with Kalamazoo Public Schools, in food services, from which she retired after 30 years. A Memorial service will be held at 11:30AM on Thursday, October 29th, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Friends may meet the family Wednesday, October 28th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Westside Chapel. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Crystal Woods staff for their loving care of Marilyn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Park Village Pines, Hospice Care of SW Michigan or to the Alzheimer's Association.
