Marietta R. Myers

MYERS, Mrs. Marietta R. Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday afternoon January 27, 2007. Marietta was born March 26, 1923 in Rapid City, South Dakota a daughter of Charles and Minnie Nelson Haney. She had been a Climax/Kalamazoo area resident since 1969, coming from Battle Creek. She was a lifelong artist and devoted many years volunteering at the Burnham Brook Senior Center in Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon C. Myers, Jr. in 1995; 3 brothers; and a sister. She is survived by 5 children, Leon Shirley Myers III of Marcellus, MI, Suzye Poley of Battle Creek, Annie ?Ellen? Jon Bard of White Rock, NM, Michael Sarah Kaufmann Myers of Ann Arbor, MI, and Phillip Bonnie Myers of Battle Creek; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may join the family in Celebrating Marietta?s life 2-4pm Saturday in the Auditorium at the Fountains at Bronson Place, 1700 Bronson Way. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Portage Senior Center or the Kalamazoo Arts Institute.
