Marie L. Shorter

SHORTER, Marie L. Kalamazoo Passed away Friday, April 13, 2007. She was born in 1919 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Bertie John and Lydia A. Sunnock Wheeler and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She had been employed in the paper making field, retiring from the James River Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Wayne A. Shorter; a son, William R. Shorter, III; a grandson, Ronald A. Shorter; and her 2 sisters. She is survived by her children, Ann M. Walters of Baldwin, MI, John Ellen Shorter of Kalamazoo and Suzanne E. Bernie Gunnett of Salt Lake City, UT; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Rev. James Dyke officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 PM.
