Portage, MI Went to be with her Lord on August 19, 2013 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Age 91. She was born in Kalamazoo on April 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Dan and Cora VanDam Kalleward. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. She was married to Harold Pikkaart on August 30, 1941; he preceded her in death on May 24, 1996. After raising their children, she worked as a Library Aide for the Kalamazoo Public Schools. She was a member of Bethany Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday School and was actively involved with the Women's Guild and Women's Circle. She volunteered for Portage Public Schools and the Portage Outreach Center. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed competitive walking events. Surviving are her children, Patricia Paul Rynbrand of Kalamazoo, Susan Richard Malone of Wyoming, MI and Robert Pikkaart of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Pam Allman of Portage, Rhonda Robert Franssen of Wichita, KS, Amy David Whitehead of Mattawan, Daniel Malone of Wyoming, MI, and David Kelly Malone of Caledonia, MI; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Katelyn, Nathan, Allison and Connor; brother, Howard Jane Kalleward; nieces, Karen David Witvoet and Kathy Thomas. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Bethany Reformed Church, 1833 S. Burdick St. Rev. Fritz Kruithoff will officiate. Private entombment will take place later in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue and then at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday. Memorials may be made to Bethany Reformed Church Memorial Fund, Rose Arbor Hospice Residence or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
