BRADY, Marie J. Hopkins Climax Marie Jane Hopkins Brady passed away Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Battle Creek. She was born in Allegan, MI on March 28, 1928, one of 13 children born to Robert and Dorothy Dailey Hopkins and had lived in the Battle Creek and Climax area since 1949. On April 23, 1949, she married Clare Brady, who survives. She taught 2 years at the Allegan public schools. During the 50?s and 60?s she was very active in the PTA at Lakeview Schools. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin she and her husband built in McMillan, Michigan. She also helped her husband build eight homes through the years. Marie was a member of the Southside Bible Church in Battle Creek for many years. She was a member of the local garden club, enjoyed gardening, especially her flower garden. Marie was a very giving person of her time and herself, loved being with her family, especially her grandson and great grandchildren and also enjoyed doing things for her nieces and nephews. During her busy life her most important part of her life was being a homemaker. Marie is also survived by her daughter, Jayne Brady of Climax; her sons, Timothy Pamela Brady of Climax and Tom Deborah Brady of Fulton; a grandson, Stephen Melissa Brady of Battle Creek; 2 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Aiden Brady; a brother, Guy Hopkins of NM; and a sister, Dorothy Morris of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Raymond Brady; three sisters and six brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 East Maple, with Rev. Mike Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
