Marie E. Vander Bilt

VANDER BILT, Marie E. Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday evening, November 14, 2006. Marie was born January 30, 1922 in Willard, Ohio the daughter of Cornelius and Florence Postema Rietveld. She attended Fourth Reformed Church, enjoyed going to craft shows; working in her yard; and devoted her life to her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jill VanderBilt; and a brother, John Rietveld. On December 20, 1940 she was united in marriage to her loving husband of 65 years, Rev. Henry VanderBilt who survives. Also surviving are 9 children, John Linda VanderBilt, Neal Elaine VanderBilt, Jeanie Dick MacPherson, Sharon Henry Vlietstra, Elaine Robert Grace, Dodie Howard Nash, Peggy Rafael Rodriguez, Joyce Randy Anderson, Edward Denise VanderBilt; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Anne Rietveld; sister-in-law, Lea Rietveld; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Fourth Reformed Church.
