DENEAU, Marianne Josephine Szyperski
of Portage
formerly of South Haven Passed away Friday evening, June 11, 2010 at Borgess Medical Center at the age of 80. She was born February 25, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph and Clara Szyperski. Husband, Jack V. Deneau preceded her in 1998. Marianne was responsible for integrating 911 into the western half of Michigan and was a hardworking, devoted employee of Michigan Bell, now AT&T, for 35 years. Aside from her professional life, she was a loving and giving mother, caring for others before herself. In recent years, she was very active in the Silver Leaf Renaissance Fair, Telephone Pioneers, and in the senior community taking writing classes as well as singing in the choir. Surviving Marianne are her children, Steven Mary Deneau of Portage, David Karen Deneau of Swartz Creek, MI, Elisabeth "Betsy" Deneau of Portage and William Donna Deneau of Three Rivers; 7 grandchildren, Adam, Christian, Rachael, Keri, Ryan J., Caleb and Jacob; 1 great grandchild, Alyza; 3 brothers, Thomas Ervone Szyperski, Paul Szyperski and Victor Carol Szyperski; and many loved nieces and nephews. Also preceding Marianne in death was a grandchild, Jack; brother, Adam; and sister-in-law, Betty. Family will greet friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. A Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, 11:00 o'clock, followed by a luncheon, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1150 W. Centre Ave. A private, family burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Memorials in Marianne's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society of Kalamazoo County, 1400 W.
