Margean A. Powers

Margean Powers, age 96, passed away February 14, 2025. She was born March 23, 1928, in Kalamazoo to the late William and Gertie (VanderMolen) Hoebeke.

Marge graduated from Kalamazoo Christian Schools. She began working for Sutherland Paper Co. in their statistical department and later became an animal procurement specialist at Upjohn, eventually retiring from there. She was united in marriage to Robert Powers on July 18, 1957. Marge was a lifelong member of North Park Reformed Church and was involved in the Joy Group for Seniors at North Park as well as The Shepherd’s Center.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Powers; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, John and Christina Hoebeke.

She is survived by her nieces, Lori (Bill) Gove, Sally (Chris) Clark, and Marcia (Todd) Raifsnider; several great nieces and great nephews; and her special friend, Sue Grimm.

The family would like to thank the staff at Park Village Pines for the care they provided over the years.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007, where friends may visit with family from 12:00-1:00pm. Marge will be laid to rest with her late husband in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
