Of Parchment, Michigan Died Thursday afternoon, November 27, 2008 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. Margaret was born December 26, 1921 to Leo Cloney and Mabel Webster Pease of Scotts, Michigan. Her long, rich life was filled with love of family, dedication to work, service to community, and fellowship with all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was much loved and will be deeply mourned. She is survived by Lyle Stryker, her husband for 63 years; her brother Donald W. Pease; her children and their spouses, Nancy Stryker, Eileen Stryker and Robert Endias, and Martin and Ann Stryker; her grandchildren Aaron and his wife Anna, Elaine, and Sean Stryker and Rosemary Stryker Linares, and by her nieces and nephews and their children. Besides family, important mainstays of her life included friends, especially Inez Schonveld, her extension homemaker club, her and Lyle's "countywide" group of friends, and their Parchment group as well as many neighbors in both Northwood and Parchment, and friends from her church and workplaces. A graduate of Parsons Business School, Margaret worked at Consumers Power until her children were born. When they entered school, she returned to work at Mead Paper Company, Kalamazoo Public Schools, then Michigan State University Kalamazoo County Extension Service, from which she retired as office manager in 1983. She enjoyed being a Kalamazoo County 4-H Leader for over 50 years, teaching young people skills for life and, as a community leader, involving other parents in sharing their skills with young people. She was also an active volunteer at the Parchment United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son Stephen, her parents, her brothers Austin and Leo Pease, her sister Doris Kenyon, brother-in-law Arlon Kenyon, and sister-in-law Wanda Pease.
