OWEN, Margaret J.
Portage Passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007 in Kalamazoo. She was born April 20, 1926 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Samuel and Mona Wells Mazzer and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Margaret worked for the Upjohn Company in computer security for 23 years, retiring in 1988 and was currently working for J.C. Penney in the men?s department. On February 22, 1946, she married Elliott C. Owen, who preceded her in death on February 17, 2005. Margaret is survived by her son, James Sharon Owen of Portage and her daughter, Judy Randy Jones of Climax; 3 grandchildren, Jackie Mark Gregg, Greg Owen and Rebecca Altman; 5 great grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Carissa, Alec and Hayden; a brother, Sam Pat Mazzer in Ohio; nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family committal will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery. On Saturday, July 7, 2007, a gathering of friends to remember Margaret, will take place at the Birches, 3082 S. 9th Street, Oshtemo, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
