DeYOUNG, Margaret T.
Of Kalamazoo Margaret went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday morning, August 17, 2010 passing peacefully in her home of six years at Park Village Pines. She was born July 16, 1917 in Hartford, MI, the daughter of the late David and Ethel Harris Cronkite. On June 1, 1939, Margaret was united in marriage to Henry "Brud" DeYoung in Kalamazoo, who preceded her in death on November 16, 1993. She was a longtime member of Second Christian Reformed Church, where she served as custodian and was a member of the Friendship Guild and Senior Members Society. Surviving are three children, Jerry Mary DeYoung of Kalamazoo, Virginia Louis Houseman of Kalamazoo, and Nancy James LaDuke of Palmetto, FL; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; brother, Neal "Dick" Lucille Cronkite of Kalamazoo; and sister-in-law, Dorothy DeYoung of Kalamazoo. Funeral services for Margaret will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at Second Christian Reformed Church, 3015 Nichols Road, with her nephews, Rev. Wayne DeYoung and Pastor Fred DeYoung officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6-8 PM and on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service, both at church. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Second Christian Reformed Church, Kalamazoo Christian School Association, or Park Village Pines.
