GAUNA, Mr. Manuel "Manny"
Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday morning November 15, 2014. Manuel was born August 26, 1931 in Dilley, Texas a son of Everisto and Josephine Medina Gauna. During the Korean War, he served honorably with the U.S. Marines. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed as the Director of Parks and Recreation with the City of Kalamazoo for 24 years, before retiring. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Joe, Ed, and Ralph. He is survived by his longtime companion, Marilyn J. McNee of Kalamazoo; a stepson, Scott Amy McNee of Chicago, IL; 2 step grandchildren, Sierra and Brennan; a brother, Richard Judy Gauna of Dayton, TN; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 24th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St. There will be a luncheon right after the mass in the gym. There will be no other visitation. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Kairos Dwelling or the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
