Of Kalamazoo Went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Park Place Assisted Living. Malvie was born January 23, 1930 in Joliet, IL, a daughter of Walter and Malvie Walberg Grosche. She lived in Oak Lawn, IL for most of her life and in Kalamazoo for the past 11 years. Malvie was employed for 14 years as a bookkeeper for the Wabash Norfolk and Western Railroad and later for 25 years as a sales clerk at Marshal's. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, needlework, reading, traveling in the U.S. and participating in her grandchildren's activities. Malvie was preceded in death by her husband Edward N. May, Jr. in 2004 and by a brother Wallace Grosche. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Don Snyder of Plainwell; 2 grandchildren, Paige and Meredith Snyder; a brother-in-law, Donald Christine May of Lemont, IL and a sister-in-law, Patricia Donald Straza of Glen Ellyn, IL; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21 from 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 22, at 1:00 PM in the Mausoleum Chapel at Chapel Hill Gardens South, 11333 S. Central, Oak Lawn, IL. Memorial contributions in Malvie's memory may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4660 West 94th St., Oak Lawn, IL 60453 or to the charity of one's choice.
