of Wellston, MI Our rose has lost its petals. Mable passed away peacefully on June 2, 2010 at home, in the loving care of her daughter Ruth. Mable was born March 5th, 1910 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Guy Brown and Cora Reid Brown with six brothers and three sisters who have preceded her in death and one sister Winifred Cramer who still survives. Mable married George M. Kemp and had 6 children, surviving are, William Jenny, Maxine, Ruth Carl and Tom Martha; and George, Jr. and John W. who preceded her in death. Mable was a descendant of Harmon Gilson Brown, her grandfather, who was a civil war veteran. She is survived by 24 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. Mable retired from the Kalamazoo State Hospital and was a faithful volunteer - cooking meals for the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission and meal's on wheels even after her retirement. Mable was the last surviving charter member of the Calvary Bible Church. Services will take place, Tuesday, 11:00a.m. at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Hwy., Comstock, MI, with family greeting friends 1 hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and well wishers make a donation to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission in her memory.
