Formerly of Kalamazoo Died Sunday morning December 12, 2010 in Wilson, North Carolina. Lynette was born January 5, 1964 in Vicksburg, Michigan a daughter of Ronald and Donna Stratton VanAtta. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed as a cosmetologist years ago. Lynette also attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald VanAtta; and her father-in-law, Harold Lipscomb. On August 24, 1985, she was united in marriage to Darrell W. Lipscomb who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Amber Lipscomb and Kyle Lipscomb both of Kalamazoo; her mother, Donna Stratton of Portage; a sister, Denise Sylvester Shelton of Wilson, NC; 2 brothers, Scott VanAtta of Wilson, NC and Mark VanAtta of Morgantown, WV; her mother-in-law, Carolyn Lipscomb of Portage; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday, January 5th at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 929 E. Centre Ave. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will take place at the church. Memorials may be directed to the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice.
