Lynette Yvonne Dunigan departed this life on October 27th, 2023. She was the second born child to Vernon and Gersteen Sherrod on July 14th, 1966, in St Joseph, MI. Lynette spent her early childhood in Benton Harbor until her mother relocated to Kalamazoo, MI in 1976, where Lynette completed her formal education and was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School in 1984. She was self-employed with her own daycare for many years. There she loved and taught children many skills, she loved them and their families. Lynette was employed for several years at Burnham & Flowers Insurance Group. She most recently worked in the Seeds Learning Center at Mt. Zion Church. Lynette was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Deaconess Ministry for many years. Lynette was a helpful hand around the church and an active member of the Sunday School community until her health declined. Lynette was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Sherrod, Aunt Carol Bledsoe-Price and Uncle Roscoe Bledsoe Jr. (Be Be) and grandfather Roscoe Bledsoe, Sr. Lynette lived life to the fullest, never complaining and always vibrant in spirit.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory of her grandmother, Ophia Dee Bledsoe of Kalamazoo, MI; Mother, Gersteen Sherrod of Kalamazoo, MI; 2 mothers in-love Bishop Dorothy Sherrod of South Haven, MI and Valerie Dunigan of Three Rivers, MI; 6 brothers: Maurice Kelly of Lansing, MI, Terrence Sherrod of Kalamazoo, MI, Curtis (Courtney) Sherrod of Benton Harbor, MI, David (Erica) Gary of Elkhart, IN, Davionte (Brianna) Shannon of San Antonio, TX, and Anthony Allen of Holland, MI; 3 sisters: Althea “Candy” (Will) Gaddy of Orlando, FL, Tanya Sherrod of Kalamazoo, MI, and LaVonda (Wilson) Dyson of Louisville, KY; A loving son Raynard Dunigan, Jr. and A devoted daughter Aliyah Dunigan both of Kalamazoo, MI; A God Daughter, Naomi Thorpe of Houston, TX; Two grandpuppies Ralo and Nugget; 5 special sisters: Sonja Dotson, Kimberly Reynolds, Denise McCoy, and Valerie Kelly-Brown and Satina Dunigan. Along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nothing can fairly nor completely capture the essence of the life of Lynette Yvonne Dunigan. She has left an undeniable impression on those around her. The memories of Lynette shall be embedded in our hearts forever.

Friends may visit with her family on Thursday, November 9th, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A memorial service will be held on Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 120 Roberson St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007, where a family hour will be from 11:30 AM-12:00 PM and the service will begin at 12:00 PM.
