Luciano Hernandez Sr.

Luciano Hernandez Sr. passed away peacefully February 20th, 2025

Luciano “Chano” “Lou” was born January 7th, 1935 in Maxwell Tx. The youngest son of Hermanjildo and Maria (Aguirre) Hernandez. He moved to Michigan and married the love of his life Elvira Reno on December 31st, 1952. They welcomed 5 children into their lives and raised them in Kalamazoo. Lou is survived by his three sons Luciano (Diana) Jr. of Avondale AZ, Joseph (Beverly) of Claremore OK, Jesse (Peggy Allison) of Kalamazoo, 21 Grandchildren numerous Great Grandchildren and a few Great Great Grandchildren, and close buddy Steven Tinkey. He was proceeded in death by his wife Elvira in 2003, daughter Mary and son in law Juan Muniz in 2018, and daughter Susan Welch in 2022. 

In honor of his wishes a private graveside service will take place. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at the Eagles Club of Kalamazoo 1322 Branch St. at 1:30 pm on Thursday, February 27.
