Formerly of Kalamazoo Died Wednesday morning February 20, 2008 in Lansing, Michigan. Lowell was born June 14, 1933 in Connersville, Indiana a son of Matthew and Farabee Bass Chastine. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with International Harvester for 33 years before retiring. He was also a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lansing. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Louis Chastine; 3 brothers, Charles, Matthew, and Eli; 2 sisters, Ramon and LaQueen; and his former wife, Sarah Chastine. On April 3, 2004, he was united in marriage to Erma Lee Stafford Chastine who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Terrie Ann Scott of Orlando, FL, Lowell Chastine Jr. of Kalamazoo, Wenonah Anderson of Detroit, MI, and Rodney Chastine of Kalamazoo; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 1 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
