VONHOUT, Louise Ann Louise passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the age of 84. She was born October 10, 1930 in Kalamazoo to the late Gordon and Fern Francisco Book. She grew up at Book Dairy Farm on L Ave., in Galesburg. She graduated from Galesburg Schools. Louise was united in marriage to Charles S. VonHout, Sr., on December 7, 1955 who passed away November 24, 2001. Louise was involved with Cub Scouts as Den Leader, Boy Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, Battle Creek Boat Club, Power Squadron, and the Holiday Rambler Trailer Club. She also volunteered at the annual Battle Creek Balloon Festival as well as the Foster Grandparents Program at Verona School. Louise was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Battle Creek and later, with the Climax Methodist Church. She worked for the Battle Creek Enquirer News and at Shakespeare in Kalamazoo. She loved sewing, embroidering, puzzles and taking pictures. Louise is survived by her children, Charles Arlene VonHout, Jr., Christine Weever and Clark Angela VonHout; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; sister, Deanna Elliott; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Leon Book, Maxine Harback, Jean Book and Charles Book; and son-in-law, Greg Weever. The family will greet friends on Sunday, February 1st from 2-5pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple St., and Monday, February 2nd from 10-11am with the funeral service beginning at 11am. Pastor Glenn Litchfield will officiate services. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. A private burial will be Wednesday, February 4th, 10am in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Care Community Assisted Living, Springfield, MI.
