of Kalamazoo, Michigan Louis Samuel Pollens, M.D., passed away on August 18, 2011 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born to Dorothy Kasle and Joseph Pollens on May 18, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State University Medical School and practiced the specialty of Internal Medicine for 35 years in the Detroit area. Many families were grateful for the compassionate care he provided to them over the years. His wife, RosaLynn, worked by his side as a Registered Nurse for much of his career. Louis and RosaLynn had four children and the family enjoyed home life and traveling together. In retirement Louis and RosaLynn moved to Kalamazoo, MI where they spent the last 17 years. Louis had time to enjoy gardening, classical music, and his family. He will be deeply missed by: RosaLynn Beilis, his beloved wife of 58 years; son Steve, his wife Robin, and their children Andy, Karrie, and her husband Eric; daughter Sandy Rebecca, her husband James, and their children Janna, Jesse and Evan; son Jeff and his wife Livia; daughter Karen, her husband Bern, their children Jaymes, Jonah, Micah, Shoshana, and Ellyannah. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Langeland Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. where services are scheduled for Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Jewish Mountain Home Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation of Moses or Temple B'nai Israel in Kalamazoo, MI.
