LANSDALE, Mr. Louie E.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday afternoon May 16, 2009. Louie was born January 27, 1927 in Crossett, Arkansas a son of R. Douglas and Vida Clanton Lansdale. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1958 and was employed with Conrail Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 1989. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Winfred, James, and Bill Lansdale. On August 27, 1952, he was united in marriage to Alice V. Gatewood Lansdale who survives. Also surviving, 7 children, Alice Frank Goodale of Paragould, AR, Kathy Bill Cairo of Round Rock, TX, Peggy Timothy Miller of Kalamazoo, John Brenda Lansdale of Parchment, George Lansdale of Kalamazoo, Rick Fran Lansdale of Three Rivers, and Sandy Albert Stafford of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dorman Lansdale of Kalamazoo; 2 sisters, Dorothy William Balock of South Bend, IN and Shirley Charles Thomas of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday.
