DYKEHOUSE, Lorraine Edith
Of Kalamazoo Lorraine passed away early Friday morning, April 26, 2013, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on September 10, 1947 in Albion, MI, one of two daughters to the late James and Dorothy Davis Frye. On January 24, 1970, Lorraine was united in marriage to Douglas Dykehouse. She earned her B.A. degree in education from Central Michigan University and was a Special Education teacher for Kalamazoo Public Schools. Lorraine was an active volunteer in several educational and community based programs Lorraine was also a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Portage, MI. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Doug Dykehouse; their two children, Michael Jennifer Dykehouse of Ann Arbor and Julie Ryan Rosekranz of Cassopolis; five grandchildren, Eleanor, Wyatt, Ethan, Reed and Rylie; sister, Margaret Gary Vernon of Del Mar, CA; niece, Elizabeth Rob Ross of Encinitas, CA; grandnephew, William Ross and grandniece, Lucy Ross; two uncles, Bud Ruby Davis of Albion and Ben Reba Lark of Marshall; and several cousins. A service celebrating Lorraine's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 7028 Oakland Drive, Portage. A luncheon will follow. Private inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Albion, MI. Memorial contributions may be directed to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
