DEBOER, Lorraine
Kalamazoo Passed away Monday, July 12, 2010. Lorraine was born January 30, 1921 in Rock Valley, Iowa, a daughter of Paul and Nella Van Dyke DenBoer and lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years. She retired from the Brown Paper Company after 30 years of service. During WW II, she was crowned the "Bomber Queen of 1943" for her service in the Bond Drive sale. She was also a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church of Kalamazoo. On August 8, 1945, she married William E. DeBoer, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1996. She was also preceded by her parents; a son, Duane L. DeBoer; a sister, Louise Timmons; and a brother, John DenBoer. Her survivors include her children, William Ruth DeBoer of Vicksburg, Patricia Allen Pedersen of Western Springs, IL and Kurt Cheryl DeBoer of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; four sisters, Rena Harold DenHammer of Kalamazoo, Adriana Viel of Kalamazoo, Pauline Nap of Punta Gorda, FL and Wilma Timmons; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM in the Second Christian Reformed Church, 3015 Nichols Rd. with Rev. Dr. Warren Lammers officiating. Interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Wednesday from 5-8 PM.
