BUIST, Lorna Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Kalamazoo. Lorna was born December 2, 1913 in Dowagiac, MI, the daughter of Claude and Erma Hess Reames and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years. She had been employed by 1st National Bank for 10 years and was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, where she worked on the monthly newsletter and was a member of the Circle of Hope. She also volunteered for the Food Pantry and for 15 years with Ministry with Community. On August 31, 1941 she married Arthur Buist, who preceded her in death on December 25, 1967. She was also preceded by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Buist; and 3 grandchildren. Her survivors include her children, Phillip C. Marilyn Buist of Kalamazoo, Dorothy "Ann" Max Hausermann of Kalamazoo and Lee A. Buist of Gilbert, AZ; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced. Memorial contributions may be given to Ministry with Community or the Heritage Community Foundation. Wayne Connor officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service.
