Of Portage, Michigan Passed away Tuesday evening, March 10, 2009 at her residence. Loretta was born April 2, 1939 in Detroit, MI the daughter of John and Eleanor O'Sullivan McGinty. Loretta earned her BA degree from Marygrove College and a Masters degree from Western Michigan University. She taught for 17 years in the Kalamazoo Public Schools until her retirement in 1987. Surviving are 2 sons, Daniel Toni Pelc, Michael Kristi Pelc; sisters and brothers, Kathleen Richard Novallo, Celeste McGinty, John McGinty, Michael Joy McGinty; and several nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by a brother, James McGinty. Services will be held 12:00 Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Interment will follow in Portage South Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm and Saturday from 11:30-12:00 at the Portage Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Leukemia Foundation, Portage Senior Center, or Marygrove College. www.langelands.com
