KELSEY, Loretta I. Kalamazoo Loretta passed away late Saturday evening, April 28, 2007 at Tendercare of Westwood. She was born on December 17, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the only child of Claude and Wilma Lamoreaux Diamond Baldwin. A son, Arthur Tinkey of Comstock, MI survives. Loretta lived her entire life in the Kalamazoo area and worked as a waitress and bartender for more than thirty years. Loretta?s passion was always baseball. She was a lifetime Detroit Tiger fan, which she inherited from her mother. She told stories of watching the Kalamazoo Lassies women?s professional baseball team and was often seen cheering on her Kalamazoo Kings. Loretta came to the Kalamazoo Adult Education program to earn her high school diploma at age 62. She will be fondly remembered and missed by classmates Louis, Fay and Pam, as well as adult education staff members Janet, Musette, Diane, Sally and Kim. Five years ago Loretta became the adopted ?mother? of Doug & Kim Wood , who were responsible for her care. They will miss her history lessons and her friendship. They also want to give special thanks to the wonderful staff at Tendercare of Westwood for providing excellent care and who gave Loretta friendship, dignity and, of course, Bingo. We know she will be missed there as well. There will be no visitation or services.
