Doerschler, Loretta F.
Of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born in Kalamazoo on February 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert and Mildred Hodgman Pyne. She retired from AT & T. She belonged to First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered in the food pantry. She also belonged to the AT & T Pioneers and enjoyed knitting, gardening and making hats for the preemies in the NICU at Bronson Hospital. She was united in marriage to Hans Doerschler, who preceded her in death in 2003. Surviving are her two children, Marc Dorene Doerschler of Kalamazoo and Diane Jim Koning of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Jamie Anna, Josh Michelle and Jill; three great-grandchildren, Henry, Claire and Emma; one brother, Don Sue Pyne; one sister-in-law, Alice Pyne; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Klimczak and her brother, Robert Pyne. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Amber Way, Custom Carelink and her special aide, Penne. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo, 212 S. Park St., where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Sandra Elfring will officiate. Private family interment will take place later in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes or First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo.
